Hello Everyone!

It’s so great to be with you on this glorious spring day!

We have big news to share with you!

Since we last communicated, I spent a few days with my dear friend Linda Kohanov, best-selling author and founder of Eponaquest Worldwide in Amado, Arizona. I’ll share more below!

I also want to share that I am featured in Phoenix Voyage Magazine — maybe you’ll find some nuggets in our discussion called, Life & Work with Belle Shook of Equine Guidance® ~ see blow!

We’ve had some excitement at Equine Guidance® with a visit from Dr. Peter Levine, developer of Somatic Experiencing®! Dr. Levine is also the author of the international best-selling book, Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma, among other extraordinary works. I’ll share more about that exciting day in a subsequent email to you!

And, I’ll share more about the Webinar I’ve been invited to present on behalf of Somatic Experiencing® International on May 19th, 2022. This event is open to SE practitioners, healers, and the public. I’ll provide the title, content, and what you’ll receive from attending in my next communication with you!

Finally, as we move into this new paradigm of the world opening up and the radical changes we’ve been through, as well as the uncertainty we face in terms of our planetary economics and the war in Europe, I want to make sure you know that we’re here for you!

I highly recommend Linda’s book Riding Between the Worlds, not just because she cites me and our experience together in it, but more importantly because Linda is an exquisite writer sharing vast and profound insights. Her books should have a category all their own of healing literature.

Riding Between the Worlds is an elegant, engaging book about psychology & mythology as it integrates healing with the horses woven through Linda’s Eponaquest experiences.

I came to Belle’s horse ranch through a retreat with Peter Levine. It was a surprise and at first I had some intimidation and fear around the horses. As a young kid I had a rogue horse that took off with me. Her three horses salsa, mimi and penny were deeply trained and regulars at this work.

I had the most incredible moment with Salsa where I was feeling quite intimidated by him–he was the big one. The mighty one. I stood across from him and he looked me straight in the eye. I shared with him (in my mind as talking isn’t allowed during the session) that I was afraid. I heard back “What are you afraid of?” Shortly after Salsa lay down on the ground. Belle shared that this was incredibly rare and that horses only do this when they feel really safe. It’s vulnerable for a 1200 pound animal to lie down with strangers! Me and several people in the group got on our knees and lay on the ground with him. I am a poet and wrote a few poems about the experience it moved me so deeply. My biggest reflection was “Where is it safe to lie down?” and the need for discernment, and also that even the mighty ones, must rest. My follow up call with Belle was insightful and supportive of my integration. I plan to come back, and bring clients with me. 15/10 recommend. Thank you Belle.
