Titration means we slow things down so that shadows left within our nervous system can move into coherence – so that heart-brain-nervous-system speak to each other with ease. Titration means we slow things down, breathe, and allow ease to ensure a safe and steady resolution to trauma and to revealing blind spots that we may have due to the scratches, dings, and dents that we pick up in living life!
As we entrain to the horse’s slower heart rate and respiration, we drop into the parasympathetic nervous system, where clarity, resilience, healing, creativity, and intuitive intelligence resides.
Through their millions of mirror neurons, the horses reflect to us what sits in our neurobiology, thoughts, intentions, and fears. We often don’t know what we don’t know, no matter how old, experienced, or successful! Titration allows us to move through this journey thoroughly and thoughtfully! If we hurry, we leave behind debris that we have to go back to clean up anyway!
Here’s what one client said about her experience – our client wanted to work on her leadership skills.
|
|
|
She is a successful entrepreneur and expressed that she wanted to open up her intuition and be more creative to grow her business.
What she immediately learned was that she had a blind spot sitting in her neurobiology. We all have them. Over time, they happen from emotional dents and scratches that leave shadows in our neurobiology, which the horses immediately detect.
Sometimes a leader’s or coworker’s blind spots become a source of gossip in an office setting when this person’s relationship skills, lack of relatability, inflexibility, or blocks to success stand out to everyone but them.
Mimi detected our client’s blind spot to her lack of self-trust immediately and reflected it to resolve it.
Our client revealed that she had been betrayed by a business partner two years prior. She thought she had resolved it, but had in fact, only pushed it aside.
During our follow-up a couple of weeks later, our client said, “Since my experience with you and Mimi, my intuition has heightened, deepened, and sharpened; and my creativity and communication skills are beyond what I could have dreamt! It’s as if I had been wearing an invisible, heavy, oversized coat for so long, and Mimi helped dissolve it into thin air!”
Healing and personal development aren’t linear. These awakenings happen every day at Equine Guidance®!

Meet The Equine Guidance® Herd!

Meet the Herd at Equine Guidance®
They have been working together providing Equine Guidance® with Belle Shook, Intuitive Therapist since 2004.
The herd comprises three American Bashkir Curly Horses. They are distinctive for their curly coats and they are hypoallergenic for most people.
Mimi is a stunning and sturdy black mare with a heart of gold. She has the curiosity of a cat with the steadiness ready to face a hurricane of any grief. Mimi is solid in stature and character; all the while prepared for shenanigans; Mimi will be the first to lead the herd out of an unattended paddock. She has the stamina to face any heartache with incredible courage.
Salsa: A wise gelding with a bright red coat and black mane and tail. He is gentle and has a keen awareness far beyond conventional horse sense, which makes him incredibly impatient with traditional means of horsemanship. He is a gifted healer who can send energy through the nervous system to shift and release blocks and communicate through the felt sense. Salsa has a shamanic quality to him where he can see through the worlds, helping the conscious mind experience the compelling depth and create meaningful insight.
Penny: A beautiful copper brown with a perfect curly main. She is highly sensitive and the leader of the herd. Her breath sometimes sounds like a calming purr as she empowers others to be present with their intuition and more profound knowing. Penny is like riding a Ferrari as she turns left before you even thought of it! She is terrific at helping people connect with their center and find peace in their personal energy.

The Drama of the Gifted Child: The Search for the True Self by Alice Miller is one of my all-time favorite books.
Alice Miller’s book, The Drama, came out in the late ’70s and is timeless. Ms. Miller explores how as children we are taught to hide our true, feelings, emotions, and memories so that we please our parents and to “win” their love by being good.
|
|
Children learn to adapt to what they believe their parent’s expectations are of them, and as a result, children can contort themselves by burying feelings, experiences, worries, thoughts, and emotions to please and keep the peace. Children learn early on to effortlessly stuff feelings in the pursuit of perfection and to be pleasing.
The results of becoming adept at stuffing and ignoring our true feelings create harmful outcomes to humans physically and emotionally and keep us from knowing how to be emotionally honest with ourselves and others. We truly lose track of who we are and what we desire along the way.
|
|
|
I believe we see so much chronic illness today because of these repressed feelings or childhood wounds. The body is not separate from the mind. I believe it causes inflammation in the body and results in imbalances like arthritis, gut issues, and even cancer. Our repressed feelings block us from our creativity, intuitive intelligence, and success in our relationships and in business.
The best news is that this can all be resolved! The first thing we have to do is acknowledge the truth that maybe we need to clean up from the inside out. No words are necessary at Equine Guidance®.

Praise for Belle Shook and the Equine Guidance® Herd!
|
|
This session totally met my expectations and mirrored all the feelings and emotions I have in my life… I learned so much about why things are the way they are, and what to do to change them. The horses show you how and who you really are without judging, just reflecting.
